After a recent ice storm, my DSC system (with an EVL3) started reporting the following event "Phone Number 1 FTC". There was an issue with Bell but even after they fixed the line, the DSC still reported the line down. I think during the storm, the phone line interface on the DSC got zapped. So it can't connect to the monitoring service anymore and I get the "Phone Number 1 FTC" system event once a week.
Can I just switch to IP monitoring? Or will the reoccurring "Phone Number 1 FTC" system event be flagged by the monitoring company. Obviously, I don't want to have the system alarm because the phone line it down.
Just trying to see if I had stick with my current (damaged) hardware or I need to replace the DSC with something like an UNO
thanks

I saw there is an installer option to turn of the phone interface (015 option 7) but I don't have the installer code. I could reset the board but then I've have to program it from scratch. I'm hoping I can enable the ip monitoring and it will ignore that the phone line is down.

So yes you can switch to IP monitoring without the installers code, but no, you can't get rid of the FTC if the panel is still programmed to call the station over the dialer. If you are still under contract with your monitoring company I'm sure they would remove the dialer programming and switch to IP. You would need to switch from Eyezon to Connect2Go but that isn't too much of a hassle.
Switching to the UNO is fairly painless too. Just record all of your zones types before the swap and then do a one-to-one wire swap with the DSC panel.

Thanks for this. I think I'll use this as a time to move to UNO. That will allow me to add wireless sensors in our garage.
Do you know if it will fit in the existing 5015 case or should I order one to match?

The mounting hole pattern is the same as DSC 5020 or PC1832/1864 panel. So if your "can" can accommodate these panels then you are good.
