API Question

I have recently purchased and installed a DSC 1832. I am looking at buying the EVL-3 - Envisalink Internet Alert Module. Where can I find more information on the API?

Also have you made it any further on a local API? No offense but I would not rather go through a service to access my security system. I would rather handle that myself. If not a person might as well use ADT, LOL.
