Help with Safewatch Pro 3000 (Ademco / HW Vista20P)

Post by rdgerken »

While trying to follow the instructions to program my system, it says that I need to enable LRR (*29) - which I need to do, because I don't have any of these specialty modules. It's bizarre though, because if I type #29 to interrogate the value, I just get EE back. Also, when trying *29, it just comes up blank, like that's not even a valid field. Does anyone have a clue why my system won't respond to *29?

I get similar results when doing *48, etc.

I'm able to program *192 just fine (I have my envisalink 3 set to address 19). I can see the envisalink on the web interface, and it is connecting to the system - I can even arm/disarm it. I was not able to get through all the required programming though - so I'm concerned that the alerting and all that won't work properly. So close, yet so far...

This is my first time programming, so maybe I'm just not doing something right??

The sticker on my security board says "SAVS20PS" and there is a Honeywell chip labeled "WA3000 - 9.12" - a quick google search tells me this is the Vista 20P.

I believe I'm using a 6160 keypad at address 16 to attempt this programming. My house had two keypads in it, addressed at 17, 18. I put the envisalink at 19, and then moved the 17 keypad to 16, to attempt the programming.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Have you tried resetting to factory defaults and programming everything all over?

How do you do that Steve? Because it sounds like rdgerken and I have a similar problem, even if I am able to see the value when typing *29. It just won't retain it and give me the same EE when typing #29.

*97 but just understand you will loose everything and have to reprogram everything. I believe your problem is different though ludoo.

Any chance did *97 reset bring back that *29 field?

My vista 15p is only 2 years old. Don't understand why it would be completely missing a field.

It's not missing any fields. This problem has already been solved (the *29 problem) and the explanation given on another topic. If you are having other problems other then the *29 issue then start a new topic.

Thanks, yeah I get it now. Tried to #29 to see its value first and it gave me EE. I realize it is necessary to just *29. Thanks!

I have a safewatch pro 3000 and am having problems getting alerts. I can control my system and see the status but I do not get any of the alerts. The system features a cellular dialer as well. When I try to enter *48 the system says it is not used. When I set *29 to 1 I get "CHECK 103 LngRng Radio 0000" Do I need to unhook the cellular dialer? What am I overlooking? Thanks.

Do you use the cellular dialer? If so is it connected to the keypad bus? What's the model of the cellular device?
