EnvisaLink 3 GUI Commands+Code/Custom with Vista 15P??

I can't find anything that explains the use of the Code and Custom buttons under the Commands button in the GUI... Is there a resource that explains how to use these?

My assumption is they are a way to communicate with the alarm via the native codes, but you know the definition of assume!
