Some of the New Foscam H.264 Cameras look pretty good. Do a You tube search for comparison videos.
I second on using a system based DVR I have a 4 channel direct wired system I just upgraded to Blue Iris which seems like one of the best DVR software packages out there and Supports Foscam Cameras.
I have my First Wireless cam on the way to integrate and evaluate.
If your recording its pretty important to have a good record. Some of the web based ones I don't trust Such as DropCam.
I record all my video clips to the Local Hard Drive folder which is setup as a Google Drive shared folder and copies to the cloud for safe keeping.
