Sending Installer codes through command

Post by cbellissimo »

Hello,

Is it possible to send installer commands by logging into the customers account from my pro account and than selecting the commands option and inputing *8 commands in the sequence text box?

Regards,
Chris.

Yes you can do this but BEWARE. Once in installers mode, ALL LOCAL KEYPADS ARE LOCKED OUT INDEFINITELY. For DSC systems there is no timeout to installers mode so if you enter it via the Envisalink's interface, the only way out is through the Envisalink's interface (i.e. pound out).

If for some reason you could not get out of installers mode, the only way to recover is to power-cycle the panel.

If I needed to go into installer's mode to change a system setting, it would be really helpful to see the existing settings. Does the Envisalink make it possible to see the existing settings?

e.g.
*8 <installer's code> [section]

In most sections, I would see the 8 bits, e.g.
12345678
1-------

Will the Envisalink allow me to see the 8 bits?
Normally, hitting one of the buttons (1-8) allows me to toggle the bits.
How do I toggle the bits through the Envisalink?

Thanks.
