monitor zone on honeywell ademco sends a security event

How can I configure my envisalink 3 to ignore monitor zones? I have my garage door configured as a monitor zone, but want to see alarms and resetting of alarms. The Ademco panel allows the monitor zone to be faulted and still be armed, but I get an e-mail every time the garage door is opened or closed.

Is there a different configuration for the honeywell panel or the eyes-on page? Thanks for your help.

Do you have it enabled as zone follower?

It is configured as a zone type 12 for the honeywell panel. I thought that zone followers were supposed to be for motion type sensors? What does the EVL-3 do with a zone follower? I'll change the config on the eyez-on website and see if that helps.

No, I mean you shouldn't have a zone follower on that zone if you don't want to be notified when it opens and closes.

There was no zone follower set for the zone - the notification was still sent as an alarmed zone:

Security Event: 13 Overhead Door Alarm
Location: home
Time: 2013-08-30 07:30:01
Partition: 1

Adding a zone follower did not help - I removed zone followers from the notifications, but I still get the alarm for the monitor zone. Does the EV3 need to know that the zone sending alerts is a monitor zone?

No, I was asking if you had a zone followerer enabled. Not to enable one.

A zone follower would update you as to zone status (annoyingly) whenever your garage door opened or closed. It looks like it is the actual panel that is sending this message so I would direct your comments to either Honeywell tech support, or maybe one of the Honeywell support forums (there's a lot a them....).

I am bringing this topic back. I have a basement door on a type 12 - 24-hour monitor zone on a vista-21iP and am getting a notification as an alarm event every time the door is opened and a restoral when the door is closed regardless if the alarm is armed or not. GrandWizard, what do you mean by the zone follower enabled? It is not set a as a 04 - Interior follow zone.

Yes. From the Vista manual:
Type 12: Monitor Zone
...
In the case of a short/open, the message, "*ALARM*-24 Hr. Non-Burg. -#XXX " (where XXX is the zone number) will be sent to the Central Station. The system keypad will display a “check” message indicating the appropriate zone (but keypad beeping does not occur). Upon restoral of the zone, the message, "*RESTORE*-24 Hr. Non-Burg. -#XXX " will be sent to the Central Station.
What exactly are you trying to have it do? Is "Type 23: No Alarm Response" closer to what you want?

Thanks for the response lonewolf! I want the keypad to display "Check basement door" but not send any notification to the central station, chime, or interfere with arming and disarming. Zone type 23 description does not mention if it shows on the keypad or not but I can try it. One of the kids is just starting to walking and rolling around in the walker and it is pretty dangerous to have the basement door open, it is nice to to see it on the keypads. Can I remove the report code to fix this or do I need to program a custom zone type?
